It’s been a great year for Vancouver Whitecaps FC.
They’ve won the Cascadia Cup, clinched a berth in the CONCACAF Champions League, and could secure a playoff berth in Saturday’s regular season finale.
Guess you could say we’re heading in the right “direction.”
OK, that was bad, but check this out.
One Direction, the popular London-based boy band, released their promo for next year’s Vancouver concert on Friday and they were each sporting Whitecaps FC jerseys.
Seriously.
Turns out they released similar sports-themed promos for some of their other tour stops. For example, they were wearing Eagles jerseys in their Philadelphia promo.
In Vancouver, they chose the ‘Caps. Guess we’ve made it?
One Direction isn’t the first band to show its support for the Blue and White.
Back in 2012, Coldplay took part in a little meet and greet with then Whitecaps FC captain Jay DeMerit at BC Place while Mumford and Sons dropped by for a training session last year.
