Whitecaps FC head coach Carl Robinson makes nine changes to his starting XI from Saturday’s 2-0 defeat at Sporting Kansas City. The only players who will have started both matches against SKC are Kendall Waston and Fraser Aird, who starts tonight on the right wing.
Tonight’s XI includes six starters from Vancouver’s CCL win over Central FC, including Aird, Erik Hurtado, Brett Levis, who signed a Major League Soccer contract with Whitecaps FC today, Jordan Smith, Cristian Techera, and Russell Teibert.
Centre backs Kendall Waston and Tim Parker have partnered in the middle in 16 of 26 MLS regular season matches this season.
Tonight is the first time in official competition that forwards Erik Hurtado and Masato Kudo have partnered upfront together.
