SAN JOSE, CA – Vancouver Whitecaps FC are set to face San Jose Earthquakes at 2 p.m. PT in their second-to-last match of the 2016 MLS regular season (TSN2 and TSN 1040).

Whitecaps FC head coach Carl Robinson makes seven changes to his starting XI from their 2-1 defeat against Seattle Sounders FC on October 2.
Paolo Tornaghi, Fraser Aird, Kendall Waston, Nicolás Mezquida, Andrew Jacobson, Cristian Techera, and Masato Kudo replace David Ousted, Jordan Smith, David Edgar, Pedro Morales (suspended), Alphonso Davies (injured), Christian Bolaños (injured), and Giles Barnes.
This will be Tornaghi’s first MLS regular season start with Whitecaps FC since joining the club ahead of the 2014 season. His last MLS regular season start was a 1-1 draw with Houston Dynamo as a member of Chicago Fire on July 27, 2013.
Also of note, centre back Christian Dean makes the 18 for the first time this season. After an impressive preseason, Dean suffering a left foot fracture during training on March 1, which required surgery on March 9. He returned to training in mid-May but suffered a meniscus tear on his right knee during training on May 25, which also required surgery on May 31. Dean wrote about his injury struggles in a candid and emotional open letter on whitecapsfc.com.
In addition to Morales, striker Blas Perez is also suspended for today’s match.
