Notes

Whitecaps FC head coach Carl Robinson makes four changes to his starting XI that played against Ottawa Fury FC last week. After watching both Canadian Championship matches against Ottawa, keeper David Ousted returns to the net and makes his 100th consecutive start in MLS.

The four defenders are unchanged, while Russell Teibert is in for Pedro Morales, Kekuta Manneh is in for Alphonso Davies, and Erik Hurtado replaces Octavio Rivero.

Looking back at Vancouver’s last MLS match, tonight’s XI has two personnel changes with Nicolás Mezquida and Erik Hurtado in for the suspended Pedro Morales and Octavio Rivero.

Tonight is the 12th all-time match that sees 2013 MLS SuperDraft picks Kekuta Manneh (4th overall) and Erik Hurtado (5th overall) start an MLS regular season game together. When the two speedsters are in the starting XI, Whitecaps FC have posted a record of 5W-3L-3D. Manneh has four goals and Hurtado has three goals in those 11 starts.

Bench

Christian Bolaños and Blas Pérez return from international duty and will be available for the first time since the May 22 match at Portland.

Homegrown midfielder Ben McKendry and 2016 MLS SuperDraft pick Cole Seiler made their first-team debuts against Ottawa in the first leg of the Canadian Championship semifinal on June 1; both are looking to make their first appearances in MLS play.
