NOTES
Whitecaps FC head coach Carl Robinson makes one changes to his starting XI from last Saturday’s 2-2 draw with Orlando. Rookie Cole Seiler makes his MLS debut, stepping in for Jordan Smith at right back.
This past Tuesday, the 22-year-old started and played 61 minutes at right back in an international friendly against Crystal Palace FC, helping the ‘Caps keep a clean sheet during that time. The Anderson, South Carolina native previously played the full 90 minutes on June 1 in the Amway Canadian Championship semifinal first leg against Ottawa Fury FC.
With WFC2, Seiler has started all 10 of his USL appearances.
The front four of Christian Bolaños, Nicolas Mezquida, Pedro Morales, and Masato Kudo start together for a second consecutive match. Last weekend against Orlando, Mezquida and Kudo both scored while Morales had an assist.
Kudo makes his third consecutive start after suffering a fractured jaw on May 11 against Chicago Fire. He missed six league matches and all four Amway Canadian Championship games.
