Whitecaps FC head coach Carl Robinson keeps the same starting XI for the third straight match, and fourth time in five matches. This is the first time in Vancouver’s MLS history that the same starting XI has started in three consecutive matches.
Goalkeeper David Ousted will be making his 44th consecutive MLS start with the club, which is the most on the team. Ousted is the only Whitecaps FC player this year to start and play every minute of MLS regular season action.
Right back Steven Beitashour will be making his 110th start in MLS regular season play today. Despite missing four matches to the FIFA World Cup with Iran, the native of San Jose, California, has played the fifth most minutes (2,068) this season for the ‘Caps.
Centre back Andy O’Brien will be making his 45th MLS regular season start – 22nd this year. O’Brien, at 1,898 minutes played this season in MLS, has played the most minutes of the six centre backs used this year.
Centre back Kendall Waston, who was named the Whitecaps FC Budweiser Man of the Match in three of his six starts, will make his seventh consecutive start and eighth appearance for the club.
Left back Jordan Harvey, who holds the club MLS record by a defender in appearances, starts, minutes played and goals, will be making his 185th MLS regular season appearance today. Harvey has started all but one MLS regular season match this year and is second in the team, behind Ousted, with 2,579 minutes played. Today will also be Harvey’s 30th start of the season, which is a new individual high for the 10-year MLS veteran.
Midfielder Mauro Rosales, who was named the Whitecaps FC Budweiser Man of the Match in two of his six starts, will make his seventh consecutive start and eighth appearance for the club. This afternoon will be Rosales' 96th start in MLS and his 115th appearance.
Midfielder Matías Laba will be making his 45th regular season appearance in MLS and 28th as a member of Whitecaps FC. At 2,407 minutes played, Laba has more MLS regular season minutes than any other Whitecaps FC front six player this season. Only Ousted (2,700) and Harvey (2,579) have played more minutes than Laba.
Whitecaps FC captain Pedro Morales, who leads the club with 10 goals and 10 assists, will be making his 25th MLS regular season start today. Morales has appeared in all but one MLS regular season match for Whitecaps FC this year and is fourth on the team in minutes played with 2,223.
Midfielder Russell Teibert will be making his ninth consecutive start for the first time in his career. Today is also Teibert’s 26th MLS regular season appearance this season, also a career best. Teibert, who joined the club in August 2009 when he was 15, is Vancouver’s longest serving player.
First-year MLS winger/striker Sebastián Fernández will be making his 23rd start this season. Fernández has appeared in all but one MLS regular season match for Whitecaps FC this year.
Striker Erik Hurtado will be making his 17th MLS regular season start of the season and 21st as a pro. Hurtado as more than tripled his minutes and games started from his rookie season.

- Defender Christian Dean (USA U-23) and striker Darren Mattocks (Jamaica) will also miss next week’s match at Seattle away on international duty.
