WOMEN
Friday, July 26 – 6 p.m. PT at Thunderbird Stadium vs. TSS Rovers
Tickets $5 (free for Whitecaps FC MLS season members and youth 18 and under)

The Whitecaps FC League1 BC women’s team finished the regular season undefeated (10W-0L-2D, 32 points) – the first time in League1 BC history that the feat has been accomplished.

However, the team that played most of the season has undergone a shift. The majority of the older 2006-born players have now moved on to start their collegiate careers. In their stead, the club has added a group of experienced players as they set their sights on adding to their trophy case, and taking on the best professional competition in the region in the inaugural Concacaf W Champions Cup.

This is a rematch of last year's playoff semifinal, which the ‘Caps took 5-2 on the way to winning a second straight League1 BC title.

TSS Rovers (5W-5L-2D, 17 points) finished this season in the fourth and final playoff spot. The ‘Caps took the season series with a 7-0 win on May 5 at Thunderbird Stadium, and 2-0 win on June 21 at Swangard Stadium. But don’t be fooled, this side will be game and motivated to pull an upset against a ‘Caps side still familiarizing themselves.

MEN
Sunday, July 28 – 1 p.m. PT at Kinsmen Field vs. Altitude FC
Free entry (maximum 700 people)

The defending champion ‘Caps (5W-3L-4D, 19 points) come into the playoffs as the third seed, and will head on the road to play Altitude FC at North Vancouver’s Kinsmen Field.

Like the women’s team, the men’s side are also composed differently than they were for most of the season. In addition to players departing for college, several players will also receive call-ups to Whitecaps FC 2 (WFC2) to compete in MLS NEXT Pro. That provides a tremendous opportunity for a number of younger players from the club’s U-17 and U-16 BMO Academy teams.

Altitude FC (6W-3L-3D, 21 points) had their best season to date, finishing in second place in the men’s division and making the playoffs for the first time. The two sides played to a 1-1 draw on June 9 at Thunderbird Stadium, and another 1-1 draw on June 12 at Kinsmen Field. They will be looking to make their first League1 BC championship final
