VANCOUVER, BC – Vancouver Whitecaps FC BMO Academy U-19 boys recorded a 4-1 victory at Ken Woods Field against Altitude FC this Sunday evening.
The opening goal in the first half came from Altitude FC. Following multiple rebound attempts after a corner was crossed in, Ismaila Savane thumped in the first goal in the 19th minute of the match.
In a quick turn of events, the young 'Caps would tie things up after Nikos Clarke-Tosczak's pass found Chris Album, and the forward's strike found the back of the net in the 23rd minute.
As the match progressed, the home side picked up a quick counter attack, as Asvin Chauhan's footwork led to a pass finding Album. The forward bagged a brace giving his team a 2-1 lead in the 40th minute.
The second half started with the Blue & White extending their lead after Gurman Sangha's pass connected to Jaden Manetta, who slotted home the third goal of the game in the 60th minute of the match.
Moments later, the home side continued with their pressure in the final third, as Manetta's ball found Sangha, his turn and strike made it 4-1 for the young 'Caps in the 67th minute.
Altitude FC would look for answers in this second half, as they created multiple opportunities inside the box, with goalkeeper Harrison Gough strongly saving a rebound attempt in the 71st minute of the match.
The away side continued to press, but the 'Caps defence fended off the attempts as the final whistle blew.
