Vancouver Whitecaps FC are honoured to have Tessa Charleson from Girls Who LEAP as Kid Captain of the club's home match against Houston Dynamo FC at BC Place on Friday, August 5.
Tessa is proud to represent her Nuu-Chah-Nulth and Jamaican roots through sport and culture. She has competed in soccer, basketball and track & field on local, provincial, and international levels. She represents her Vancity Reign basketball team at Junior All Native Tournaments and will be representing Canada in soccer at the Native Indian Football Association in the Dominican Republic this month. Through Girls Who LEAP Society, Tessa has volunteered countless hours with afterschool programs and community initiatives to create care packages, make scarves, fundraise and feed hundreds of folks in our community. She loves sharing her cultures through sport.
