Whitecaps FC are honoured to have Matthew Burns from Special Olympics Team BC as Kid Captain for Sunday's match against San Jose Earthquakes.
Matthew is a huge soccer fan and a successful multi-sport Special Olympics athlete! Currently, Matt is a member of the Special Olympics Team BC 2024 Training Squad. He earned a spot on this provincial team with his floor hockey team after they won gold at the last Special Olympics BC Winter Games. Matt has medalled at BC Games in swimming and track and field and also participates in Special Olympics soccer, basketball, and softball.
