ATLANTA, GA - The MLS All-Stars and Italian giants Juventus FC put on a show in front of 72,312 fans at the 2018 MLS All-Star Game at Mercedes-Benz Stadium, with the storied Serie A club winning via shootout after the showcase ended in a 1-1 draw after 90 minutes.
Vancouver Whitecaps FC phenom Alphonso Davies played 31 minutes off the bench, checking in shortly after the half-hour mark, and quickly getting the crowd on the edge of their seats with his patented tantalizing runs, this time as left wingback for the MLS All-Stars.
The two sides traded goals in the first half, with Juve striker Andrea Favilli opening the scoring with a 21st-minute header, and MLS Golden Boot front-runner and All-Star Game MVP Josef MartÃnez answering five minutes later.
Neither team would be able to break the tie in the second half, and Juventus came out on top 5-3 in the shootout. Juve converted on all five tries, and Mattia De Sciglio made the All-Stars pay with the deciding goal after Bradley Wright-Phillips missed during the previous turn.
