MUST-OWN WHITECAPS FC PLAYERS
Not surprisingly, Pedro Morales was the top Whitecaps FC fantasy performer in 2014 with 199 total points. That was the third highest total among all midfielders in MLS. If you want Morales, though, you’re going to have to pay for it as his price has increased to $11 million, which is the most expensive along with players like Kaka, Clint Dempsey, Lee Nguyen, Robbie Keane, and a few others.
The next best Whitecaps FC fantasy player in 2014 was goalkeeper David Ousted, whose 166 points were third most among goalkeepers. The Dane led MLS with 13 clean sheets last season. Ousted is priced at $5.5 million.
Another must-own ‘Caps player is centre back Kendall Waston (priced at $8.5 million), who racked up 76 points in just 10 appearances last year. Waston’s combination of defensive play (clearances, blocks, interceptions) and goal-scoring threat makes him one of the most attractive defenders in MLS.
Finally, it’d probably be a good bit of business to snatch up striker Octavio Rivero. He’s currently priced at an affordable $8.5 million, but it wouldn’t be a shocker to see his value rise if he gets off to a good start. The same could be said for Kekuta Manneh, currently priced at just $7 million.
