VANCOUVER, BC – Vancouver Whitecaps FC have named Joe Taylor head coach of the club’s Whitecaps FC BMO Medicine Hat Academy Centre.
As part of his role, Taylor will oversee programs in Medicine Hat, including working as technical director with Whitecaps FC Network Partner Program club Medicine Hat Soccer Association. In addition to his responsibilities with MHSA, Taylor has also accepted a role as head coach of the soccer program at Medicine Hat College.
“We are pleased to welcome Joe to the club to lead our Medicine Hat Academy Centre programs and Network Partner relationship with MHSA,” said Mike Ayyash, Whitecaps FC BMO Academy Centre technical director. “Medicine Hat is an exciting region with lots of potential and we’re looking forward to the long-term growth of soccer in the area.”
Joe was previously working with Manchester City FC & Blackburn Rovers FC in England. Additionally, he has experience coaching in the United States, China, and Malawi. He currently has his UEFA B License certification and has a Sports Coaching Foundation Degree from the University of Roehampton.
Joe has started with the club as of June 1, 2023 and has begun the process of integrating with the club and college with all programming that’s currently active.
