Vancouver Whitecaps FC midfielder Inbeom Hwang went the full 90 minutes for South Korea in a 1-0 win against Australia on Friday. The international friendly match was played at Busan Asiad Stadium.
Next up for Korea is a match against Iran on Tuesday, June 11 at the Seoul World Cup Stadium.
"After that we'll give him three or four days off," said Whitecaps FC head coach Marc Dos Santos on Monday. "He will stay in South Korea with his family. He's never had [a break] since he's joined us and he needs it right now."
In the meantime, the Whitecaps FC Development Squad will also be playing a pair of matches in Korea. On Saturday, June 8 they face Inbeom’s former team, Daejeon Citizen FC, at the Daejeon World Cup Stadium. Then on Monday, June 10 they go up against Suwon Samsung Bluewings at the Suwon Training Centre.
