VANCOUVER, BC - Vancouver Whitecaps FC midfielder Inbeom Hwang has been called up to the Korea Republic men’s national team for a pair of fixtures next month.
The Taegeuk Warriors first play Georgia in an international friendly at a neutral site in Fatih Terim Stadium in Istanbul, Turkey on September 5. Then on September 10, Korea Republic open the AFC second round of 2022 FIFA World Cup qualification on the road when they visit Turkmenistan at Köpetdag Stadium in Ashgabat.
Hwang is scheduled to leave Vancouver following the August 31 match versus New York City FC, and is expected to return prior to their next game against Houston Dynamo on September 14.
He has one goal in 16 caps since making his international debut in September 2018.
