VANCOUVER, BC - Vancouver Whitecaps FC midfielder Inbeom Hwang has been called up to represent the Korea Republic men’s national team for a pair of home friendlies in June.
The Taegeuk Warriors will play host to Australia at the Busan Asiad Stadium on June 7, before taking on Iran at the Seoul World Cup Stadium on June 11.
The 22-year old is not expected to miss any matches with Whitecaps FC while away on international duty.
Born in Daejeon, South Korea, Hwang has collected 14 caps and one goal with the men’s national team, as well as capturing the gold medal for the U-23 squad in the 2018 Asian Games.
In his first season with Whitecaps FC, Hwang has a goal and two assists through 12 stars and 15 appearances.
