Whitecaps FC goalkeeper Thomas Hasal’s top performance against Sporting Kansas City has earned him a place in the MLS Team of the Week, the league announced on Tuesday.
Following a clean sheet against Chicago Fire FC that helped the ‘Caps reach the Knockout Stage in the MLS is Back Tournament, Hasal stood tall and strong against Sporting KC in the Round of 16 fixture.
SKC, who entered the match against the ‘Caps with the second-most goals scored in MLS, found Hasal to be an immoveable object between the posts.
In only his second career start, Hasal managed eight saves, tied for the most in a single match in MLS in 2020, and tied for fourth-most in club MLS history.
Hasal has now managed 212 minutes since making his MLS debut without conceding a goal in regulation time, and no doubt deserves his place in the MLS Team of the Week.
