VANCOUVER, BC – For the second time in just five weeks, Vancouver Whitecaps FC centre back Doneil Henry has been named to the MLS Team of the Week.
Henry scored the lone goal for Whitecaps FC in Saturday’s 1-1 draw with Philadelphia Union, heading in a corner from Ali Adnan in the 41st minute. It was Henry’s second goal of the season, marking a new career-high.
The Canadian international also had a game-high eight clearances, to go along with two tackles and two interceptions. For his efforts, Henry led the way in this week’s Audi Player Index Spotlight.
Henry, one of two ‘Caps players to have started every game this season, will be back in action on Friday when Whitecaps FC visit Colorado Rapids at Dick’s Sporting Goods Park. Kickoff is set for 6 p.m. PT on TSN and TSN 1040 radio.
