VANCOUVER, BC – Vancouver Whitecaps FC confirmed on Monday that midfielder Aly Ghazal has been called up to the Egyptian men's national team for this months’ Africa Cup of Nations qualification match against Tunisia.
The Pharaohs host Tunisia at Borg El Arab Stadium in Alexandria on November 16. Tunisia lead Group J with a perfect 4W-0L-0D record, with Egypt trailing right behind at 3W-1L-0D.
Ghazal has seven caps for the Egyptian men's national team, most recently making an appearance last month, playing the full 90 minutes in the 4-1 home victory over Swaziland.
The Pharaohs are the most successful nation in the history of the Africa Cup of Nations but are looking to lift the trophy for the first time since 2010.
Ghazal finished the 2018 MLS season with 17 starts and 22 appearances for the 'Caps.
