Who was your favourite soccer player growing up?
My dad for sure. I’m also a Bastian Schweinsteiger fan. I chose the number I wear because of him and so sharing the field with him in Chicago was pretty cool and I got his jersey after so that was pretty special.
If you weren't a soccer player, what would you be?
If I could do anything, I would either want to be a really famous country singer or an astronaut. That’s if we’re thinking outside of the sporting world. Other than that, I’d be a hockey player.
You've been in Vancouver for 10 years. What’s your favourite spot to hang out?
It's changed but now, when we go for lunch after training, we usually go to Social Corner or The Greek in Yaletown.
What’s your favourite TV show?
The Sopranos.
What’s the website or app you visit the most?
Recently? Any website for furniture. Craigslist too, Cragslist is awesome.
What’s your guilty pleasure?
Tiramisu, for sure.
Have you had any nicknames aside from “Rusty?”
This is from Ali and Inbeom. Ali tries to speak into his phone and he was trying to say Russ, but it came out as Rosa. So Ali and Inbeom have both been calling me Rosa.
What are you most proud of?
The happiness that my family experiences when they watch me play, or when you see a kid wearing your jersey, that's something special.
What would you sing at karaoke?
Probably some Kid Rock. Like Living My Life and Put Your Picture Away.
