VANCOUVER, BC - Vancouver Whitecaps FC captain Ryan Gauld will not participate in the 2024 MLS All-Star Game and Skills Challenge due to a left knee injury sustained in the first half of last Saturday’s match. Gauld will receive medical imaging this week and following the results, the club will provide an additional update.

MLS and LIGA MX Provide Updates on Rosters for 2024 MLS All-Star Game presented by Target and MLS All-Star Skills Challenge presented by AT&T
NEW YORK – Major League Soccer and LIGA MX today announced the players available for selection in the 2024 MLS All-Star Game presented by Target.
The MLS All-Star roster features players from 18 different MLS clubs, with the hosting Columbus Crew the most represented team with five players. Newcomers to MLS highlight the All-Star selections, as eleven players who were named to the All-Star roster made their MLS debuts in 2023 or later. The MLS All-Star roster is also representative of the league’s broad international make-up, as the players named to the All-Star team were born in 18 different countries.
Additionally, both leagues provided updates to the rosters for the MLS All-Star Skills Challenge presented by AT&T on Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. ET. Real Salt Lake’s Diego Luna will now participate in the MLS All-Star Skills Challenge presented by AT&T, replacing Ryan Gauld of Vancouver Whitecaps FC, and LIGA MX’s Andre-Pierre Gignac (Tigres UANL) and Maximiliano Meza (CF Monterrey) will compete in place of Roberto Alvarado (Guadalajara) and Sergio Canales (CF Monterrey).
