VANCOUVER, BC – Ryan Gauld continues his fine play this season with his sixth MLS Team of the Matchday selection following his brace last Saturday at New England.
In addition to his goals, the product of Laurencekirk, Scotland, completed 88% of his passes, including 4/4 on crosses, created three chances, won five duels and two tackles.
The Vancouver Whitecaps FC captain, who has now been named to four of the last five MLS Team of the Matchdays, has scored six goals and added two assists in his past five MLS appearances, bringing his season tally to nine goals and four assists.
Gauld was also named to the MLS Team of the Matchday in Matchday 7, Matchday 10, Matchday 15, and Matchday 17, Matchday 18 and since the start of the 2023 season, he has been named 18 times. Forward Brian White (Matchday 5, Matchday 11), forward Fafà Picault (Matchday 7), midfielder Alessandro Schöpf (Matchday 8), wingback Ali Ahmed (Matchday 4), defender Ranko Veselinović (Matchday 8), and goalkeeper Yohei Takaoka (Matchday 8) have also been named to the Team of the Matchday this season.
