Finale Week! It's the final week of the regular season. Not a lot can go wrong with your picks this week as the following round you get a fresh wildcard ready for your playoff run.
Last weekend the West was all wrapped up with their playoff picture with only seeding still needing to be ironed out. The East however is the exact opposite. Montreal, Chicago, New England, Houston and Philadelphia all still have their playoff lives to play for with just 3 points splitting 7th to 3rd. It should be noted that Chivas USA is on a double game week, but with the value they bring to the table we don't see them surpassing key players on single games, and thus don't feel they're worth the transfer.
This week we focus on a certain few players that should prove to be key components in their teams success in the final, yet most important game of their season.
MONTREAL IMPACT:
Montreal will be looking at finishing on a high note this season, especially considering their playoff lives are still on the line. A win keeps them in, a loss or tie puts them on a stressful scoreboard watching activity for the remainder of the weekend.
Marco Di Vaio ($9.8m)
- Montreal is finishing their regular season with a Canadian rival match, away versus Toronto FC. A favourable fixture for the Impact and their main man Marco Di Vaio. Tied for the goal scoring lead, Di Vaio will look to take sole position of the golden boot award this week and we'll be captaining him in his quest for silverware.
With Toronto's inability to score we will also be rounding out our Montreal three with goalkeeper
Troy Perkins ($5.2m)
and stud defender
Hassoun Camara ($5.1m)
. Toronto is one of the lowest scoring teams in the league and we fancy a clean sheet for the Impact.
HOUSTON DYNAMO:
Houston is on the outside looking in, and depending on this final match can finish as high as third or even fith which is where they finished last season. This week the Dynamo will be putting a ton of pressure on the teams above as they face bottom of the league DC United.
Brad Davis ($8.9m)
- The man in the engine room has had a subpar performance this season from a Fantasy perspective, posting far and away from the numbers he put up last year Davis. Still he remains the Dynamo's go-to-guy and although he's only had two games in which double digits were accomplished, we believe the American international still has his best to come.
Will Bruin ($8.6m)
- What more can we say about the dancing bear? He's been a frustration wrapped up in a riddle. Perhaps a reason for Brad Davis' poor performance this season is a direct result from the lack of finishing Bruin has experienced. With just eight goals on the season, Bruin is well short of his sixteen scored in 2012, and although he's leading the fluffed chances category this year we can see him tallying against DC United Sunday. If Houston wants any playoff success this year, this man will have to turn it on.
