Only four weeks to go! Roll with those punches!
A quick glance ahead at the schedule shows a compelling few weeks on the horizon. Unfortunately there's also a giant black cloud in the distance, it's the dreaded international week he's approaching quickly and he's oh so angry.
Times like this fantasy managers can sympathize with real managers when it comes to international fixtures. It's definitely not fun being without the best of the best, especially in crunch time when you need them the most. But alas it's not all doom and gloom. Where the fantasy gods take, they also give, and we have a few bye weeks to look forward to, to ease the fantasy pain.
Defense Wins Championships:
Michael Gpsurning ($5.8m) & Jhon Hurtado ($4.5m) Seattle Sounders – Facing Colorado this week isn't an ease contest by any means. The Rapids are fighting tooth and claw to get into the playoff picture. Regardless the Seattle Sounders are the team in the driver's seat for this match. Depth and defense help fuel this Supporters' Shield contender with only 3 goals against in 7 games, Seattle don't concede easily. Nexty week's round (34) they also have a doubleheader with everything to play for if they want that top spot. Planning now can save some much needed transfer points for when you fill out your 3 Sounders on your roster.
Consistency:
Marco Di Vaio ($9.4m) & Patrice Bernier ($7.9m) Montreal Impact – Much like the Seattle Sounders, the Montreal Impact have a doubleheader approaching but in Round 35. With Di Vaio in fine golden boot form and more often than not Bernier having a hand in it either directly with an assist or in the build up, these are the two attackers you want. Facing the Houston Dynamo this week, is generally is a tough task, but the Impact has made short work of the men in orange. A combined score of 7-0 from the two victories prior, add the fact Di Vaio scored 3 of those goals makes this matchup something to look forward to.
The Dynamic Duo:
Robbie Keane ($11.2m) & Landon Donovan ($10.3m) LA Galaxy – This is the final week until playoffs that we'll be rolling this feared twosome. With international duties ahead there's a strong possibility these high scoring fantasy superstars won't be worth owning until perhaps Round 36. With that being said, we don't recommend purchasing them this round. Being two of the most popular players Keane and Donovan are most likely in your team and that means you must sell them ASAP after today's deadline. Preserve as much capital in them as possible.
