With the final five weeks of the regular season upon us, we now enter that fantasy crunch time. That critical moment where we make those bold moves in hopes of clawing back those elusive points in that gap with you and your arch rival. Or for those of you who really know what their doing, padding your wonderful lead.
For those not wanting to go for risks just yet and wanting to play it safe, have no fear. The playoffs are just around the corner, and some real damage can be done with some sneaky underdog picks.
Camilo Sanvezzo ($8.6m), Vancouver Whitecaps FC –
There was a time not too long ago where Camilo was the talk of the league with his 11 goals in a 10 game stretch. Unfortunately what followed was a rough spell in which he managed only 1 goal in 7 matches. Until last weekend that is. Those two late goals vs Montreal looked more like the Camilo we know and love. With Real Salt Lake visiting Vancouver we're banking on Camilo replicating their last visit with a the lone goal in a crucial win for the Whitecaps.
Rodney Wallace ($5.6m), Portland Timbers –
Rodney "Out of Position" Wallace has been a point machine this season and when it matters most he often comes up huge. With five matches where he accumulated 11 or more points, being on the back end has never been so sweet. Tough opponent this week with LA visiting, but when you can managed to post points like Wallace the opponent is irrelevant.

Seattle Sounders FC
– Seattle's schedule features a fairly favourable finish to the season. Not only that but in week 34 they play twice. Our advice, pick three and ride them into the sun.
Michael Gspurning ($5.8m)
- Two goals conceded in six games is reason enough to own this solid keeper. Seattle's defence has improved recently and this week they face a New York Redbulls without Thierry Henry due to his policy of avoiding turf.
Jhon Hurtado ($4.4m)
- Too much value to pass up on this defender, and perhaps even more important is that he's only owned by 4.2% of fantasy managers. Gaining points where there is less ownership is key to playing catch up to other managers in the standings.
Lamar Neagle ($5.9m)
- Another solid value pick and coming off 3 goals in just 4 games, he's riding high on confidence. At $5.9m he represents a superb player for either a starter or a first tier bench player thanks to his price.
