Another dreaded international week hits the MLS schedule and creates headaches for fantasy managers near and far. Fortunately it's another double game week featuring Seattle, Columbus, Houston and Chivas so managers do have a general idea of what direction to go in.
Seattle is definitely the popular pick here With five wins in six games, and two home games this week, it's a shame you can only have three players from one team. If you still have your wildcard this season and dont have a full roster of double gamers, this is probably the last and most opportune time to utilize it.
Erick Torres ($7.2m), Chivas USA
– Torres was a one man army against the Vancouver Whitecaps this last weekend and even though he scored two amazing goals, it still wasn't enough to secure the win. He's a must start this week with small options upfront thanks to Eddie Johnson ($9.7m) on international duty and Federico Higuain ($9.6m) serving his suspension.
Will Bruin ($8.7m), Houston Dynamo
– The dancing bear has been a bit of an enigma this season, sitting on only 6 goals this season through 21 games he won't come close to his sixteen last season. Many people wonder what's gone wrong? A deeper look into Bruin's last few games shows four fluffs in the last five games, ten on the season. With that many good chances It should be only a matter of time until that finishing touch returns.
Team of the week:
Seattle Sounders FC
– Short and sweet there are two players who are absolute must haves a this week.
Michael Gspurning ($5.6m)
- Gspurning in our opinion is the only option this week. Having an unreal game with 10 men last weekend where he stood on his head proves our point even further. The fact he has two safe opponents at home this week is just asking for a double shutout.
Mauro Rosales ($8.6m)
- With Eddie Johnson ($9.7m) and Clint Dempsey ($9.2m) on international duty and Obafemi Martins ($8.6m) still injured, every ball should go through Rosales. With Seattle facing Chivas USA and the Chicago Fire, Seattle will score goals and Mr. Rosales will be the main man. Both those players are captain potential this week.
Finally the Sounder's back line. Anyone is a good solid pick for a 3rd selected player but our favourite has to be Jhon Hurtado ($4.3m). Hurtado is a great price and has the potential for high bonus numbers.
