Round 21 is on us, how are you using your newly acquired wildcard?
The question is a tough one, to use or to hold. We believe If you've planned well then you should be holding. The week to use your second wildcard is the final week allowed, round 25 as round 27 is a huge double game week. If you're using your wildcard in prep for the double fixtures in round 22, keep in mind that you will need to offload those players at some point. The three teams of Toronto FC, New England Revolution and the Colorado Rapids don't have particularly attractive fantasy players. Aside from defense, you probably don't want to hang on to those teams for very long.
Kenny Miller ($7.8m), Vancouver Whitecaps FC
– Or is it Camilo ($8.8m)? This dynamic duo has been the talk of the MLS. With Kenny's clinical finish vs their Cascadia Rival Seattle Sounders last weekend, we feel it's a sign of things to come. The hardest part is choosing which player will out do the other one! At home vs Chicago Fire our pick this week is Captain Kenny.
Jermaine Taylor ($5.3m), Houston Dynamo
– Many managers will remember Taylor last year being one of the best defenders in the league. He and the Dynamo haven't duplicated their success but in light of recent results, we feel it's turning around. At $5.3m he's a steal with his upside potential. Take a gamble with him when you get a chance, if he picks up in the second half of the season could be a great salary gain!
Team of the week (Round 21), Philadelphia Union
– The Union are looking to get back to their winnings ways after a 3 game winless streak. However, it hasn't been too bad as they did tie 2 of their 3 games wtih the loss coming at Houston, which is a difficult match for anyone. After Sheanon Williams' ($5.2m) explosion of 36 points in 3 weeks he's struggled since receiving only 5 points in his last 2 weeks. We're going to give him 1 or 2 more weeks before fully letting him go.
Amobi Okugo ($7.9m), Mr. Consistent. Don't need to say much with over 31% ownership. He's reliable and always likely to come up with 5 or more points. Connor Casey ($8.0m) has an illness but with Jack McInerney ($8.5m) still away for US duties you would have to expect Connor will play. If you're trying to gain ground on teams above you, this could be a smart move as he's still scarcely owned at under 3%
Also keep in mind fantasy goers, the Philadelphia Union have 4 out of their next 5 games at home! Makes for a smart move, so keep an eye on their roster going forward.
