- Manchester United earned their first win of the new season on Sunday, while Chelsea moved to top of the EPL standings with a win over Portsmouth on Saturday.

MANCHESTER UNITED 1-0 TOTTENHAM HOTSPUR
Champions Manchester United won for the first time this season when a superb shot from Nani was enough to give them a 1-0 victory over Tottenham Hotspur at Old Trafford.
The 20-year-old Portuguese forward scored his first goal for United since his eight million pounds ($16.02 million) transfer from Sporting Lisbon, with an unstoppable 25 metres shot that took the faintest deflection off Carlos Tevez after 68 minutes.
The win lifted United up from second bottom in the table to 10th after their poor start of two draws and a defeat in their previous three league matches.
MIDDLESBROUGH 2-2 NEWCASTLE UNITED
The North East derby between Middlesbrough and Newcastle ended all square after Newcastle twice took the lead and Middlesbrough quickly equalized both times.
Charles N'Zogbia gave Newcastle the lead after 22 minutes with a sweet curling shot before Mido scored his second goal in two games for Boro by rounding the goalkeeper six minutes later.
Mark Viduka, who left Boro for United in the summer, scored his first goal for his new team after 77 minutes before Julio Arca volleyed in Boro's second equalizer three minutes later.

ARSENAL 1-0 MANCHESTER CITY
Kasper Schmeichel's heroics were not enough to preserve Manchester City's 100 per cent record in the Premier League this season, as Cesc Fabregas struck late to earn Arsenal victory.
Fabregas found the top corner to become the first goalscorer against Sven Goran Eriksson's City, who had won their first three games.
It was particularly harsh on the imposing centre-back duo of Richard Dunne and Micah Richards, Richards' only mistake resulting in a penalty that Schmeichel saved from Robin van Persie.
ASTON VILLA 2-1 FULHAM
Aston Villa manager Martin O'Neill was banished from the dug-out after a verbal blast at referee Steve Bennett - and then saw substitute Shaun Maloney snatch an injury-time winner against 10-man Fulham at Villa Park.
O'Neill watched the second 45 minutes from the press box after berating Bennett, as he left the pitch at halftime.
Ashley Young's shot, deflected off Zat Knight, cancelled out Fulham midfielder Clint Dempsey's first-half effort and, after Chris Baird had been sent off with 20 minutes remaining, Maloney struck in the dying seconds.
BOLTON WANDERERS 3-0 READING
Sammy Lee celebrated his first victory as Bolton manager after succeeding Sam Allardyce at the end of last season.
Five games into his tenure, the former Liverpool coach saw his team secure a crucial win thanks to goals from Gary Speed, Nicolas Anelka and substitute Daniel Braaten.
After losing three on the trot, Lee knew it was imperative Bolton took something from Saturday’s home match.
CHELSEA 1-0 PORTSMOUTH
Frank Lampard's first-half goal moved Chelsea to the top of the Barclays Premier League and cast doubt on the ability of Portsmouth goalkeeper David James to reclaim the England number one jersey.
James, who watched Paul Robinson drop a real clanger in England's defeat to Germany on Wednesday night, did not enhance his own case when he failed to prevent Lampard's effort from hitting the net.
James is hoping to replace Robinson for England's two European Championship qualifiers against Israel and Russia next month and could have ill-afforded such a blunder in front of the watching Steve McClaren.
DERBY COUNTY 1-2 BIRMINGHAM CITY
Cameron Jerome repaid manager Steve Bruce's faith in him by scoring both goals - one after just 30 seconds - as Birmingham City recorded their first Barclays Premier League victory of the season at Derby County.
Jerome, making his first start of the campaign, had an instant impact as he combined with Mikael Forssell to open the scoring almost straight from the kick-off.
Matt Oakley equalized for Derby in the 51st minute but Jerome had the last word, firing home from substitute Sebastian Larsson's flick-on just after the hour.
EVERTON 1-1 BLACKBURN ROVERS
Everton stole a point from a Blackburn Rovers side still stung by being labelled "violent" by Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger last week.
Rovers dominated the first period, and led through Roque Santa Cruz's third goal of the season, but opted to try to contain Everton in the second half.
Everton have a reputation for late recoveries even when they are not playing well, and it was
James McFadden - starting his first game of the season - who stabbed home the equalizer from Mikel Arteta's cross.
SUNDERLAND 0-2 LIVERPOOL
Andrei Voronin struck to end Roy Keane's hopes of another dramatic Sunderland escape and finally gave boss Rafael Benitez something to cheer about.
Benitez had railed against what he perceived to be a catalogue of injustices against his side this week, but his mood will have lifted after Liverpool's solid display.
Mohamed Sissoko grabbed his first goal for the club in the 37th minute to put the visitors in control and Ukrainian Voronin sealed victory with four minutes to go.
WEST HAM UNITED 1-1 WIGAN ATHLETIC
Lee Bowyer saved West Ham United with a rare goal in a late show started by Austrian Paul Scharner's acrobatic overhead strike 12 minutes from time after battling Wigan Athletic had been given a pounding.
Scharner looked to have won it when he took off in the penalty area and hooked the ball over his shoulder past a startled Robert Green, but although he raced to the touchline to celebrate a possible third Wigan win in a row with manager Chris Hutchings, it was to be short-lived.
Substitute Bowyer, on for Hayden Mullins, finished crisply two minutes later when fed by fellow sub Luis Boa Morte and shamed Hammers' earlier efforts to score.
