VANCOUVER, BC – Eight players from Vancouver Whitecaps FC’s Girls Elite REX program, in partnership with BC Soccer, have been named to Team BC for the upcoming 2017 Canada Games.
The roster includes Caitlin Arbuckle (North Vancouver), Emma Regan (Burnaby), Ashley Cathro (Victoria), Kaela Hansen (Burnaby), Reese Moffatt (Langley), Caitlin Shaw (North Vancouver), Julia Grosso (Vancouver), and Saje Brar (Surrey).
Additionally, Whitecaps FC Girls Elite REX director Emma Humphries will serve as the team’s head coach, while Whitecaps FC Girls Elite REX assistant coach Natalie Lawrence is the team’s manager.
Team BC opens the competition on July 29 vs. Newfoundland before facing Alberta on July 31. The medal round begins on August 1. All matches will be played at the Ralph Cantafio Soccer Complex in Winnipeg, Manitoba and streamed here: http://sportscanada.tv/canadagames. Select matches will also be broadcast on TSN.

About the 2017 Canada Summer Games
Winnipeg, Manitoba will host the Canada Summer Games July 28 – August 13, 2017. Featuring 16 sports, over 250 events and a major cultural festival, the 2017 Canada Games will welcome over 4,000 athletes and coaches and more than 20,000 visitors.

About Whitecaps FC Girls Elite REX in partnership with BC Soccer
As part of the Canada Soccer Pathway, Whitecaps FC partnered with BC Soccer and Canada Soccer to launch the first Women's Regional EXCEL Centre (REX) in Western Canada. The Whitecaps FC Girls Elite REX Program in Partnership with BC Soccer kicked off in January 2015 and is led by Whitecaps FC Girls Elite staff with support from BC Soccer. The program is headed by former New Zealand national team and FIFA Women's World Cup player Emma Humphries, Whitecaps FC Girls Elite head coach and women's academy director.
