Canada's men's national team defeated Suriname 4-0 on Tuesday to advance to the second round of qualifying for the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar.
Whitecaps FC BMO Academy System graduate Alphonso Davies opened the scoring with a goal near the end of the first half.
Jonathan David then doubled the score, assisted by Davies, 10 minutes into the second half.
Davies would set up David again to make it 3-0.

subbed on in the second half, and earned a penalty kick for the final goal. David would step up and score it for the hat-trick.

Canada will now face Haiti in a two-leg series, with the winner advancing to the final eight-team round of qualifying. The first leg will be this coming Saturday, June 12 in Haiti, with the return match on Tuesday, June 15 back in Bridgeview, Illinois. Both matches will be broadcast live on
