It was a tight race, but in the end Daigo Kobayashi's bomb from distance edged Hassoun Camara's bicycle kick to claim Goal of the Week honors for Week 2.

The Japanese midfielder's opener in the Vancouver Whitecaps FC 2-1 win over the Columbus Crew claimed the award by the slimmest of margins, earning 40 percent of all votes while Camara earned 39 percent for his impressive strike in the Montreal Impact's 2-1 victory against the Portland Timbers.

Kobayashi opened his MLS scoring account early in the win that moved the Whitecaps to 2-0-0 on the season. In the sixth minute, Kobayashi unleashed a shot from distance that beat Crew goalkeeper Andy Gruenebaum and nestled into the back of the net.
