VANCOUVER, BC – The accolades keep coming for Maxime Crépeau.
The ‘Caps goalkeeper was selected to the MLS Team of the Week today, as well as one of four nominees for MLS Player of the Week, after standing tall for Vancouver Whitecaps FC in a 1-0 loss to Atlanta United FC and 1-1 draw with Sporting Kansas City.
Crépeau made a total of 11 saves over the two matches, most notably an outstanding triple-save sequence against Atlanta. He conceded just two goals, including one from the penalty spot.
This is the second straight Team of the Week honour for Crépeau, who made the bench last week.
Also on Monday, the 25-year-old was named to Canada’s preliminary 40-man roster for this summer’s Concacaf Gold Cup alongside his Whitecaps FC teammates Derek Cornelius, Doneil Henry, Brett Levis, and Russell Teibert.
Crépeau and the ‘Caps are back in action on Wednesday at New York Red Bulls (5 p.m. PT kickoff on TSN and TSN 1040 radio). They will then return to BC Place for two final matches before the Gold Cup break, against FC Dallas on May 25 and Toronto FC on May 31.
