Good start in the first half
The ‘Caps came out strong in the second half to earn the win over LA Galaxy on Saturday, but they didn’t have a great first half.
That has been a bit of a trend at times, with only two first half goals this season.
They will need to come out positive, with quality in possession.
Unleash the ‘Caps front three
The front three of Cristian Dájome, Déiber Caicedo, and Brian White combined well.
They will need to keep the team in possession, and attack with intensity.
Dájome and Caicedo in particular can have success against the Houston fullbacks, while White could find himself with opportunities from crosses.
Close down the Dynamo front three
While the ‘Caps played on Saturday, Houston haven’t played since a July 7 loss in Seattle.
Their front three of Maxi Urruti, Fafa Picault, and Memo Rodriguez can be very dangerous. Urruti in particular doesn’t need much space to get a shot off.
It’s vital that the ‘Caps close them down very quickly.
