Here are Colin’s keys as the 'Caps continue their playoff push in San Jose.
Stop the Quakes attack
San Jose have not had trouble scoring goals this season, with their 42 goals scored in the middle of the Western Conference.
Jeremy Ebobisse is among the league leaders with 14 goals, and the same goes for Cristian Espinoza and his 11 assists. Add in Benji Kikanović and that trio has combined for 25 goals and 16 assists.
They are all dangerous if given service.
Take on the fullbacks
The fullbacks for the Earthquakes are better going forward than they are defending.
Recently that has been Tommy Thompson and Paul Marie.
The ‘Caps must put them under pressure by taking them on.
Clean sheet
It’s been a clear record for the ‘Caps this season.
They are unbeaten when they concede one or fewer goals, 9W-0L-5D.
A clean sheet of course will guarantee you a result. They have to get back to their identity of being hard to beat. There have been too many soft goals conceded of late.
