VANCOUVER, BC – New Vancouver Whitecaps FC winger Michaell Chirinos has been selected to the Honduras men’s national team for a pair of friendlies in September.
The Tegucigalpa native returns to his national side after making two starts in three appearances in this year’s Concacaf Gold Cup. He has 19 caps in total for Los Catrachos, who host Puerto Rico on September 5 in Tegucigalpa, then Chile on September 10 in San Pedro Sula.
The friendlies will not coincide with any MLS matches and Chirinos is not expected to miss action with Whitecaps FC while away on international duty.
