Although our MLS match vs. New York City FC, previously scheduled for Saturday, has been postponed, the clubs will still go head-to-head in eMLS action as our official eSports gamer Alex "Exraa" Gonzalez takes on reigning eChampions League winner Chris Holly from NYCFC. The two-legged FIFA 20 match will be streamed live on Twitch, free to viewers, on Saturday morning at 9:30 a.m. PT.
Gonzalez, who is in the midst of his first year as Vancouver's eMLS representative, grew up in Guadalajara, Mexico. At age 12 he moved to Vancouver, British Columbia before later landing in Regina, Saskatchewan. As a soccer player with FC Regina, he spent time playing in the Whitecaps FC BMO Saskatchewan Academy Centre.
Gonzalez made a run to the semifinals in his first official eMLS competition earlier this year and is ranked fourth in the league heading into eMLS Cup, one spot behind Holly from NYCFC.
At 18 years old, Gonzalez is the second youngest player in the competition.
