'Caps, Tigres make three changes to 23-man rosters for second leg of CCL semis

Tchani - debut

VANCOUVER, BC – Both Vancouver Whitecaps FC and Tigres UANL have made three changes to their 23-man rosters ahead of Wednesday’s CONCACAF Champions League semifinal at BC Place (7 p.m. PT – tickets still available).

The ‘Caps have added midfielders Marco Bustos, Tony Tchani, and Russell Teibert in place of Erik Hurtado (foot contusion), Kekuta Manneh and Cole Seiler. Whitecaps FC acquired Tchani and $300,000 in allocation money from Columbus Crew SC last week in exchange for Manneh. The Cameroonian international made his Whitecaps FC debut as a sub in Saturday’s 4-2 win over LA Galaxy. Teibert, meanwhile, rejoins the roster after serving a suspension in the first leg.

Tigres have added Damián Álvarez, Javier Aquino, and Julian Quiñones in place of defender José Rivas and injured wingers Jürgen Damm and Luis Quiñones, who both started the first leg. The star-studded striker duo of French international André-Pierre Gignac and Chilean international Eduardo Vargas remain on the roster and both made the trip to Vancouver, as you can see below.

After a 2-0 loss in the first leg, Whitecaps FC need to win by at least three goals on Wednesday night to advance to the tournament final. A 2-0 ‘Caps win, meanwhile, would send the match to extra time and penalties if needed.

Both teams will select 18 players from the rosters below for their matchday squads.
