‘Caps receive second doses of COVID-19 vaccine

SANDY, UTAH – Vancouver Whitecaps FC players and staff voluntarily received their second dose of the COVID-19 vaccine Monday afternoon at Rio Tinto Stadium in Sandy, Utah.

With the second dose done, the ‘Caps will be fully vaccinated in two weeks.

“I think it’s important for everyone, not only for us as a club, because we all have to work hard to get rid of this virus,” said Axel Schuster, Whitecaps FC CEO and Sporting Director. “As a sports organization, we also want to be an example to deliver a message that is important, to help this whole community all over the world to get through this pandemic.”

In partnership with the This Is Our Shot campaign, Vancouver Whitecaps FC encourage everyone to get vaccinated and to replace vaccine hesitancy with confidence, so we can end this pandemic – together. Visit the This Is Out Shot website for more resources on vaccine education, available in various languages.

The vaccination process is being conducted in coordination with the Utah Department of Health, with vaccines currently available in the state to anyone 12 or older.
