Vancouver Whitecaps FC prospect Terran Campbell scored an extra time goal for Fresno FC on Wednesday in a 2-0 Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup win over Orange County FC.
It was Campbell’s first goal as a member of Fresno FC – Vancouver’s USL affiliate.
The 19-year-old Burnaby, B.C. native, who was named man of the match, was one of four Whitecaps FC prospects to start the match, including fellow Residency product Noah Verhoeven and 2018 MLS SuperDraft picks Justin Fiddes and Corey Brown.
Whitecaps FC Residency product Matthew Baldisimo also appeared in the match as a substitute, while former Whitecaps FC striker and Residency coach Robert Earnshaw led the squad with head coach Adam Smith out of the country.
Fresno will now meet Sporting Arizona FC in the third round of the U.S. Open Cup next week. Sporting AZ FC, an amateur side, upset Phoenix Rising FC in penalties on Wednesday.
