BACK AT HOME: After capturing an important road point in Colorado, Vancouver Whitecaps FC are set to return home this Saturday, September 25 to face Western Conference side FC Dallas on Frontline Heroes Appreciation Night, presented by BMO. Saturday will be the last home match for the ’Caps in September as they look to earn max points in front of their fans at BC Place. The two sides last met on July 4 at Toyota Stadium in Frisco, Texas and played to an entertaining 2-2 draw.
PLAYOFF RACE: Saturday's match could have plenty of future playoff implications, as the 'Caps currently sit in 9th place in the West, four points out of a playoff spot. The 'Caps are six points behind sixth place Real Salt Lake with a game in hand, four points behind seventh place Minnesota United FC and three points behind eighth place Los Angeles FC, also with a game in hand. Meanwhile, San Jose Earthquakes, Houston Dynamo FC and Saturday's opponent FC Dallas all sit closely behind the 'Caps in the standings.
FREE-FLOWING ATTACK: The 'Caps attack has improved significantly in the past couple months. Over the last 10 MLS games, the Blue and White have scored 16 goals and have only failed to score in two of those 10 matches. The 'Caps also sit in a four-way tie for sixth in MLS in big chances created with 39, meaning the offence has produced plenty of quality chances. If the 'Caps continue their attacking play, it could go a long way to securing a playoff spot in the last 10 games of the season.
