'Caps keeper Joe Cannon has been nominated for Save of the Week for the third time in five weeks. The veteran 'keeper has already won two Save of the Week awards this season helping the' Caps to their impressive new MLS record of most consecutive minutes without conceding a goal to start a season. The Blue and White suffered their first setback this week, as they dropped a 3-1 result in the Bay Area to San Jose Earthquakes. However, they did set a new record in MLS for most minutes without conceding a goal to start a season and there were a few other positives to pull out from the defeat. Saturday, was a tough day for Whitecaps FC as they suffered their first defeat of the season at the hands the San Jose Earthquakes.
