The former Notre Dame Fighting Irish captain adds to a relationship that has slowly been building between Whitecaps FC and the university. It’s been about a month since head coach John Herdman led the Canadian women’s national team to a berth at the London 2012 Summer Olympics. As the preparation for the Olympics continues, the squad is now focusing on capturing their third straight Cyprus Cup. There are more than a few former Whitecaps FC women on the Canadian team that will participate in the Cyprus Cup. Canada opens the tournament against Scotland on February 28. (Signa Butler - CBC.ca)

Dr. Rick Celebrini, who acted as a consultant last year for Whitecaps FC, has joined the medical team full-time for the upcoming season as the head of sports medicine and science.
