VANCOUVER, BC – Vancouver Whitecaps FC forward Brian White and attacking midfielder Ryan Gauld have been named to the MLS Team of the Matchday for their performances in Matchday 11 against Minnesota United FC.
White tallied his fifth and sixth goals across all competitions on Saturday night to reach 50 goals across his professional club career en route to helping the 'Caps extend their MLS unbeaten streak to eight games with a 3-2 victory against the Loons.
Meanwhile, Gauld nabbed his third assist across all competitions on Simon Becher's goal, while also recording three chances created, four tackles won, and seven duels won.
The pair become the sixth and seventh 'Caps players to be named to the MLS Team of the Matchday this season, joining Yohei Takaoka (Matchday 8, Matchday 10), Julian Gressel (Matchday 7), Ali Ahmed (Matchday 6), Simon Becher (Matchday 5, Matchday 6), and Tristan Blackmon (Matchday 4).
