Enjoy some of our favourite moments from the month of April – a month in which Vancouver Whitecaps FC posted a 3W-2L-0D record with victories over LA, Seattle, and Montreal.
BEST ASSIST
This was a tough one.
Cristian Techera delivered a pinpoint cross to Fredy Montero on April 14 vs. Seattle, which is a worthy candidate indeed, but I’m going to have to give the nod to Sheanon Williams for this cross-field diagonal ball on Techera’s opener vs. LA Galaxy on April 1.
Yep, that's no man's land.

BEST SURPRISE
It’s 2-2 with less than 30 minutes to go. Who’s going to be the hero?
Matias Laba? Yes, Matias Laba.
The Argentine midfielder, who is best known for his defensive prowess, scored two late goals to propel Vancouver to a 4-2 win over LA Galaxy in front of a crowd of 25,083 on April 1 at BC Place.

BEST SNOWBALL FIGHT
OK, it wasn’t actually a fight.
But RSL midfielder Luis Silva pegged Tim Parker with a snowball on April 8 in a
Sandy,
Snowy, Utah. Chalk this down as something I never thought I’d see during a soccer game.

BEST STORY
All the talk heading into Vancouver’s April 14 tilt with Seattle was about Fredy Montero, who of course spent four seasons with the Sounders and remains their all-time leading goalscorer.
And all the talk after the game was about him, too.
Montero was the hero, scoring twice in his first match against his former team to lead the ‘Caps to victory. You couldn’t have written a better script.
I just want to thank you all. To those who love this sport and support me. Thank you pic.twitter.com/8DFgsqetOm

BEST CELEBRATION
Now this is how you celebrate a derby win.
Kendall Waston, of course, is known for his face-grabbing and slapping celebrations. But this one was on another level entirely. Click here to see what Tim Parker thought of the “incident.”
Honourable mention to Brek Shea’s “dead fish” celebration vs. Tigres and Montero’s “I can’t hear you” celebration in front of the Timbers Army.
BEST BLOCK
This goalline block from Waston in stoppage time came literally seconds before the aforementioned slap celebration. No wonder he was so jacked.
BEST BIRTHDAY PRESENT
What better way to celebrate your 21st birthday than scoring your first goal of the season, right Marco?
Goal @wfc2!!! Birthday Boy @marcobustos10 equalizes for the Canadian side! 1-1 at the half! #VANvSApic.twitter.com/TkRIXCf9g7

BEST GOAL
Andrew Jacobson made this look easy. It is not easy.
What a hit, Andrew Jacobson! #MTLvVANhttps://t.co/aNLR65aqm4
