On the attack

Eric on the attack

On Thursday, Sébastien Le Toux got to enjoy his first training session with his new teammates, including his fellow Frenchman Eric Hassli (pictured above).  The new man entered in the first of two sessions that day, as the players worked on team shape and defensive pressure. Near the end of training, assistant coach Paul Ritchie worked with the attacking players on some crossing and finishing.

It was very impressive to see all the attacking options on the field at once. I got to talk to some of these strikers to see how excited they were to be working amongst such a talented group, including Residency youngster Caleb Clarke who was very excited to learn from his fellow marksmen. I also chatted with creative midfielder Davide Chiumiento, who commented on being able to set up these strikers, as he knows that they’re all quite capable of finding the back of the net.

With this wealth of attacking talent available, Martin Rennie might be the envy of the league, but he knows that means very little at this point. He commented that there remains a great deal of work ahead for himself, his coaching staff, and the players to develop chemistry and find the right combinations of players who will work effectively together.
