The Major League Soccer (MLS) Disciplinary Committee announced today that striker Atiba Harris has been suspended for one game and fined an undisclosed amount for what was deemed to be violent conduct that endangered the safety of his opponent in the 65th minute of the match this past Saturday, March 31, against Philadelphia Union. As a result, Harris will sit out the next match scheduled for this coming Saturday, April 7, against San Jose Earthquakes.
“There was definitely no intent, but I accept the league’s decision,” said Harris. “I look forward to returning for the following match.”
The fine collected will be donated to the charitable partners of MLS W.O.R.K.S. and the MLS Players Union.
