This past weekend the ‘Caps kicked off their 2013 season with a bang. In front of a sold-out crowd at BC Place, Vancouver took home a well earned 1-0 victory in the highly anticipated season opener against Toronto FC.
Now it's time to keep the momentum going. The ‘Caps have already shifted gears and are hard at work training and preparing for their second match this Saturday, March 9 against Eastern Conference rivals Columbus Crew.
The Crew got off to a flying start with a 3-0 win at Chivas USA on Saturday. The men in yellow feature one of the most exciting talents in the league in midfield maestro Federico Higuain - brother of Real Madrid star Gonzalo Higuain.
It promises to be another exhilarating home match. In last year’s match against Columbus Crew, the ‘Caps defeated the Crew in a 1-0 nail-biter at Crew Stadium. Now they come to the fortress looking to settle the score, but with our fans behind us we expect to protect our turf.
