Phil “Lofty” Parkes, 1947–2026 Legendary goalkeeper Phil “Lofty” Parkes sadly passed away this morning at the age of 79. Born July 14, 1947, in West Bromwich, England, Parkes went on to become the first-choice goalkeeper for English side Wolverhampton Wanderers in the late 1960s and early 1970s, making 303 appearances
