VANCOUVER, BC – Whitecaps FC left back Ali Adnan has been named to the MLS Team of the Week, while midfielder Yordy Reyna has been selected for the bench.
Both ‘Caps played the full 90 minutes in Saturday’s 2-2 draw against Colorado Rapids. Adnan was the Man of the Match, earning a first half penalty kick and completing seven of his 10 attempted dribbles. Reyna scored the equalizer for the ‘Caps on a stunning 80th minute equalizer.
This is the third time that Adnan has been selected to the TOTW, also getting named in Week 13 and to the bench in Week 8. The Iraqi international has one goal and two assists in 14 starts, and is tied for fifth in MLS with 121 duels won.
Saturday’s goal was the second of the season for Reyna in his first start since returning from a hamstring injury he sustained back in April. The Peruvian’s strike has also been nominated for the MLS Goal of the Week.
