OCEANSIDE, CA – Vancouver Whitecaps FC U-17 Residency began their run in the Academy Playoffs with a 1-0 defeat versus Barca Academy AZ on Tuesday.
“It was a good game, tight, some chances at both ends," noted head coach Adam Day after the match. "They got the all important first goal which I felt would win it today. I am happy with the attitude of the players, I am happy with the performance, and we kept going until the very end. We must take that into Orlando in another big match."
The U-19s are back in action on Wednesday as they take on Crew SC Academy Wolves at 3:15 p.m. PT. The U-17s return to the field on Thursday at 4 p.m. PT to face Orlando City SC, who defeated Philadelphia Union 2-0 in the other opening group match on Tuesday.
